The Technological Universities Act 2018 provided for the establishment of technological universities, as well as setting out their functions and governance structure. Following the Act, TUs were required to undergo a full review post-formation within the CINNTE Review Cycle Schedule 2017-2024, independent of the review status of the antecedent institutions. More information may be found in the Terms of Reference for the Review of Universities and other Designated Awarding Bodies and in the Addendum for the Review of Technological Universities.
