Overview
The Aircraft Acquisition and Finance programme offers an opportunity for those wishing to develop their skills in the Aviation Leasing Sector. Ireland is a recognised leading hub in the aircraft leasing sector. Most of the worlds aircraft leasing companies has a significant presence in Ireland. The aircraft leasing sector in Ireland has 3,000 aircraft under management, one third of the worlds total large transport aircraft fleet. This sector is experiencing strong growth at the present time.
Programme details
This module aims to give students an understanding of the purchasing and leasing of aircraft. The learner will be taken through the steps taken in purchasing aircraft and the contracts linked to purchase. The key components of a lease contract will be outlined and an explanation of the critical terms will be discussed. This module will be taught by Lectures, guest lectures, case studies, problem solving exercises, project work and self-directed learning. Online delivery will be supported by blackboard collaborate.

Online Support
Students will have full access to a range of supports available online and through Blackboard, our virtual learning environment. These include our new online programme, PACE, which is designed to support students to access and effectively use library resources in order to complete assignments. Additional supports include an Academic Writing Centre and Maths Support Centre, freely available to all students.
This programme has secured funding under the Aviation Skillnet. Eligible companies and individuals can secure a 30% contribution towards course fees.

Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for people with a Level 6 qualification or higher. In accordance with the Recognition of Prior Learning Policy (RPL) of SETU Carlow. Candidates who do not have such qualifications but have other relevant industry experience may be eligible for the programme through an RPL submission and possible interview process. No age limit applies.

SETU Carlows RPL Policy offers clear pathways to the learner for recognition of previous learning undertaken and offer every credit to the learner in completing such learning.
The Programme Board will be responsible for the assessment of entry standards and applications as part of any RPL Process.
