This course was developed to meet a critical need for suitably qualified and experienced construction project management personnel, who seek the technical and interpersonal skills to successfully deliver increasingly complex projects. It is aimed at those who currently work in construction or related industries and who aspire to a position of project management within construction. This course enhances participants technical and project management skills through assessments related to participants work environment.
It places a strong emphasis upon the upskilling of participants project management technical skills through the use of project management software packages. The course is delivered using a blended learning approach, facilitating student flexibility and ensuring that companies retain and up-skill staff while in the workplace. Participants are required to attend classes for 4 x 2-day teaching sessions across 12 weeks. This is an established approach which has proven effective to date on similar construction related courses with a rate of over 95% to-date.
Course delivery - on campus
The indicative delivery model for the Certification in Construction Project Scheduling is that the course will be delivered via blended delivery; 4 × 2-day teaching sessions over one academic semester (i.e. 12 weeks). On-campus classes will typically take place once per month on a Thursday and Friday. The Work Based Learning module will be assessed typically over a 6 - month period. All assessment is via continuous assessment with participants not required to come on site for examinations.

Cost
The course will be 90% funded by Springboard for employed participants, for unemployed participants the course will 100% funded.
Employed participants will be required to pay 10% of the total fee = €200 (10%).

Applicants must hold a Level 6 award or equivalent. Trades people who hold a National Craft Certificate or Senior Trades Qualification can also apply for this programme.
Cognate discipline areas of study include: civil engineering, construction studies, construction economics, architecture, architectural technology, building services, building surveying, quantity surveying, energy engineering, energy management, building physics, physical and chemical sciences, health and safety, fire safety, fire management, fire systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, electronic engineering, systems engineering.
Applicants who have a senior trades apprenticeship qualification in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, brick and stone-laying, electrical instrumentation, electronic security systems, instrumentation, industrial electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, mechanical automation, pipefitting with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience will be eligible for entry to the programme.
Entry to the programme may also be allowed via the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process on a case by case basis.
Applicants for whom english is not their first language will, in all cases, be required to submit certification that they meet English Language Competency Requirements
