The Certificate in Developments in Adult Literacy (10 ECTS, NFQ Level 9) is tailored for supervisory or management professionals in the Adult Education, Adult Literacy and FET Sectors, closely aligning with the ALL Strategy 2021 - 2031. It aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to address adult literacy needs through the work of their own organisations and to lead meaningful change in adult literacy provision. Highlighting literacy as a tool for social transformation, the Certificate in Developments in Adult Literacy focuses on inclusion and accessibility.

Unique Features

Participants will explore how unmet literacy needs affect learner access and participation, while designing organisation-wide approaches to eliminate these barriers. This programme encourages embedding literacy support across programmes and throughout all levels of the organisation to create inclusive pathways that lead to positive outcomes for learners, staff, and the organisation as a whole.

Blended mode i.e., online workshops and face-to-face workshop on campus in SETU Waterford.

Certificate in Developments in Adult Literacy

Applicants are required to have an Honours Degree (Level 8) or equivalent and be working within an educational or training setting.
