Certificate in Digital Media (Level 8)
Course Overview:
This program focuses on two primary components: graphic design and web design. It offers students foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in key digital media tools and processes.

Aim:
The course introduces participants to:

  • Design Principles: Basics of digital illustration and imaging.
  • Graphic Design Skills: Drawing, making selections, transforming objects, working with color, and managing digital images (scanning, downloading, uploading, and printing).
  • Web Design Fundamentals: Technologies for creating networked media interfaces and learning through web technologies.

By the end of the course, students will have a strong understanding of the principles and tools used in digital media creation.

HCI Funding

Please note that this programme is eligible for funding for eligible applicants. Microcredentials are short courses that can range from 1 credit up to 30 credits. The government’s Human Capital Initiative (HCI) programme has subsidised the micro-credentials listed below for 2024/25 which have all been developed through one of SETU HCI Pillar 3 Projects

The Micro-Credential Course Learner Subsidy, under the HCI Pillar 3, offers a subsidy rate of 50 per cent for this specific case. In order to be eligible for the subsidised rate all applicants are required to meet the same eligibility as for Springboard+ / HCI Pillar 1 courses - please see springboardcourses.ie/eligibility or click into the application process below - on the for more information on the eligibility criteria.
