The Higher Certificate in Business is a two-year part-time certificate programme designed to help students build a broad range of practical business skills across the main business functional areas - including Accounting; Economics; Law; HRM, Management and Marketing. Successful completion of the HCBS will also see students greatly enhance their 'soft skills' such as interpersonal communications and self-motivation - these skills are greatly prized by today's employers.
The Higher Certificate in Business is recognised as a Major Award on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications. As such earning the Higher Cert will serve in itself as a foundation to a business career - and also open the door to a broad range of further academic progression opportunities. Having completed the HCBS the graduate will have in-depth experience of a range of Business specialisms and thereby better able to chose the specialist area that they might wish to pursue as a career.
