
What is the Course about?
This course is an introductory level course which focuses on the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries related to physical activities. This course is a precursor to further studies in areas such as Athletic Therapy, Physiotherapy, Radiography, and other Allied Health Professions also.
Course Structure
This course equips students with the skills to manage the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of injured individuals by offering a unique blend of academic theory and practical workshops. Alongside this, students will learn the fundamentals of exercise physiology and develop their coaching skills. Students on this course enjoy state-of-the-art facilities with an elite gym and access to our fully equipped dedicated rehabilitation unit.
Upon completion of this two-year course, students can apply to progress to year 3 of our BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation & Athletic Therapy (SE901). Alternatively, students can apply to other Universities both domestic and abroad to pursue further studies in a relevant area.

What will I be able to do when I finish the course?
This course is designed as a precursor to further studies in the area of the Health Sciences. Upon completion of this 2 year level 6 course, students can apply to progress to our level 8 BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation & Athletic Therapy (SE901) here at SETU Carlow.
Alternatively, students can apply to other Universities both domestic and abroad to pursue a degree in a relevant field (Athletic Therapy, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, or any relevant Allied Health Profession).
