Overview
This one-year graduate diplomaprogramme has been designed forgraduates of business and non-businessdisciplines in order toequip them with the necessaryknowledge and competenciesrequired in international business.
International business is concernedwith contemporary issues in businessfrom both a national and internationalperspective. Learners will have leadingknowledge of contemporary theories,concepts and issues concerninginternational business in todayssociety. In addition, the modulesblend both theory, practice andpolicy to ensure that the learnerwill be able to manage, develop andlead organisations in the sector.
Theprogramme will also provide learnerswith critical thinking tools to enablethem to succeed in the field ofbusiness. It will provide learners with acritical understanding of concepts andapproaches to enable individuals andgroups to realise their potential.
What will I be able to do when I finish this course?
Graduates will be equipped to manage and lead teams in multinational organisations. They will also be able to contribute to and develop the strategy of that organisation.
Graduates of this programmes will find employment in a variety of settings that promise a wide choice of flexibility and variety. Many graduates of this programme may start their career in the domestic operations of an organization and then progress to managing and coordinating global operations.

Entry Requirements
Applicants require an NFQ 8 or equivalent for entry to this programme.
Other applicants will be considered on an individual basis in accordance with the SETU Carlow policy on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Study & Career Opportunities
This qualification will allow the participant to apply for the MBA or Master of Business, depending on his/her business experience, and continue to develop and extend his/her skills base and knowledge at Level 9.
