The Bachelor of Laws (Hons) (LL.B.) is a full-time four-year programme that is both challenging and stimulating. As well as providing a broad based legal education, our law degree equips students with analytical, problem-solving, communication and research skills.

This combination of legal knowledge and transferable skills will prepare students for a variety of careers - both legal and otherwise - and postgraduate studies.

This course is approved by the Board of the Honorable Society of King’s Inns.

Follow on Study for LLB Bachelor of Law (Hons) graduates

In addition to the aforementioned career areas, graduates are eligible to apply for the Entrance Examinations for both the Law Society of Ireland (Educational, Representative and Regulatory Body for Solicitors) and The Honorable Society of King’s Inns (Education and Training School for Barristers). Graduates may also pursue postgraduate opportunities in law and other disciplines.

Graduates of the LLB Bachelor of Laws may find work in the following areas:

As well as the wide career choice available the graduate will be well placed to pursue further legal study including seeking entrance to and completing the professional courses offered at King’s Inns and the Law Society of Ireland.

Completion of the course will also enable students to undertake taught Masters programmes or Masters degrees by Research at SETU Waterford or other third-level Colleges.
