Fulltime Non-EU Repeat Fees*: The repeat and attending fees for fulltime UG and PG (Taught) Non-EU students will be applied pro-rata based on the number of credits students have to repeat.
In calculating the repeat fee liability, Entry Awards and Scholarships (Academic Excellence or Partnership Scholarships) do not apply and the liability is calculated based on the gross fee
The above does not apply to those students progressing to the next stage of their full-time programme at SETU with faculty approval to carry 5 or 10 credit from the earlier stage. In such cases, the repeat fee of €200 per 5 credits apply.
In all other instances, the repeat and attending fees for full-time non-EU students will be applied pro-rata based on the number of credits students have to repeat.
Example 1:
- Undergraduate full-time student (non-EU) completing 60 credits per annum.
- Student’s fees were €14,500 in year 1. They were awarded a Scholarship of €3,000, and therefore paid €11,500.
- This student failed 4 x 5 credit modules (20 credits) and cannot progress to year 2.
- To repeat and attend classes for these 4 modules, the fee liability will be: €14,500 / 60 Credits x 20 Credits = €4,833.
Example 2:
- Postgraduate 9 (taught) full-time student (non-EU) completing 90 credits per annum.
- Student’s fees were €15,000 in year 1. They were awarded a Scholarship of €3,000, and therefore paid €12,000.
- This student failed 2 x 5 credit modules (10 credits) plus the dissertation (30 credits).
- To repeat, attend and avail of dissertation supervision for these modules, the total fee liability will be: €15,000 / 90 Credits x 40 Credits = €6,666.
In exceptional circumstances, faculty may recommend and accommodate the granting of a no-fee extension of the timeline for submission of the dissertation. Reasons may include illness, bereavement or other unforeseen circumstances outside of the control of the student. Any such request must be supported by relevant documentation (e.g., medical certificates). This documentation must also include a detailed plan and timeline for submission of the dissertation agreed with faculty.
