SETU graduates and alumni are eligible to register to vote in Seanad Éireann elections, as part of the six-seat Higher Education constituency.

Graduates who hold bachelors, masters, or doctoral degrees from SETU, or our legacy institutions, and meet the eligibility criteria can register. To qualify, graduates must be Irish citizens, aged 18 or older and hold a relevant award.

 

Key information · New electors will be able to register online at Seanadvoter.ie or by submitting a paper form. Each application will be made to the office of the Chief Registration Officer (CRO) in the first instance either online or on paper and will be checked for identifying criteria including citizenship and age. This will then be verified by SETU.

· The opening and closing dates are updated on the application portal annually, please see Seanadvoter.ie for updates.

· The first register for the Higher Education constituency was published on 1 April 2025. That register will be the register in force for any election up to 1 June 2026. The register will then be updated at designated intervening periods.
