SETU is committed to providing a safe and healthy work and study environment for students, staff and visitors in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005, the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 and associated legislation. The University’s Parent Safety Statements are available below.
All students and staff of the University are expected to demonstrate their commitment towards a safe and healthy work and study environment by behaving in a safe manner and complying with the University’s health and safety policy and associated procedures. Any student concerns regarding Health & Safety within the University should be reported to the appropriate Head of Department and to the Students Union. Accident/Incident If you have an accident while at the University or during University activities off-campus report it immediately to one of the following:
- Your Manager or Supervisor
- Your Lecturer or Course Leader
- The Health & Safety Office
All Accident/Incident Report Forms, must be completed and returned within 24 hours of the accident/incident to the relevant Department Office and Health & Safety Office.
First Aid & Defibrillators
If your injury is minor it can be dealt with by an on-site first aider.
If your injury requires medical attention please contact as appropriate:
- Student Medical Centre, Cork Road, Waterford Campus
- Carlow Medical Centre, Carlow Campus
- Student Services, Wexford Campus.
If any of the above are closed please contact Caredoc (after hours) or the Accident & Emergency Department at Waterford Regional Hospital, Carlow Regional Hospital or Wexford Regional Hospital.
