At SETU, we have a wide range of advanced specialist facilities and equipment, many of which are available for use by industry and partners. We also offer flexible office space tailored for startups and early-stage companies. Businesses of all sizes can access the facilities, equipment and incubation space on offer at SETU.
Incubation space
SETU provides entrepreneurs and early stage businesses with the supports and assistance needed to develop their enterprise. We offer office space, mentoring, business advice access to funding and access to the wider university community.

Research equipment
SETU hosts a wide range of research equipment many of which are available for use by businesses and industry. Our researchers help industry address challenges and enhance operations and innovation using equipment ranging from routine testing/analysis to advanced research. Conferences & sport facilities
SETU offers the largest indoor and outdoor sporting infrastructure across all universities on the island of Ireland, totalling 200,000 square metres of sporting space across the Carlow and Waterford campuses.
The SETU Arena on the Waterford Campus is the largest sports, conference, and events centre in the South East of Ireland providing multipurpose facilities which caters for a wide range of events such as recreational gym users, high performance athletes, multipurpose sports, kids’ activity camps, leisure and entertainment events and conferences. The South Sports campus on the Carlow Campus which is on a 31-acre site has cutting-edge sports facilities and a world-class outdoor training facility. Library facilities
SETU offers library and information services from 5 libraries across all our campuses. Registered members have access to a wide range of reader spaces, including single use, group study and collaborative workspaces.
In addition, the SETU community has access to resources ranging from print, journal, archival, AV and technological, to online and digital collections available on campus and remotely 24/7.
Members of the public who are interested in joining the library are very welcome to do so as external borrowers who pay an annual fee. Our external borrowers’ benefits typically include: Borrowing physical books & having a place to study quietly.
