Aspiring television and film producers, directors and editors are invited to meet the award-winning Higher Diploma in Arts in Television and Media Production course team at an online open session on Monday, 26 August at 6.30pm.

The team is also offering candidates the chance to meet them in person at Nemeton TV in An Rinn, Co. Waterford (X35-XD88).

Exciting and innovative course

The postgraduate course is developed by SETU and Nemeton TV in partnership with Udarás na Gaeltachta and has been successfully preparing new media talent since 2006. It commences again on Monday, 23 September 2024.

We offer an exciting and innovative blend of practical workshops delivered through a three day block release, complemented with online tutorials. This flexibility allows the eight-month course to be uniquely tailored to the needs of those wishing to upskill or retrain while working. It also allows students living further afield to avail of the course.

Scholarships

Nemeton TV and SETU are delighted to offer scholarships for the Higher Diploma in Television and Media Production. This valuable development for the acclaimed postgraduate provides €3,000 for eligible students to cover course fees.  If you are a freelancer or temporarily out of work, you may be eligible.

We pride ourselves on being one of the most industry-focused courses in the media sector. We have gained a high profile in the industry with our excellent ongoing graduate employment record.

Graduates from the course are coveted as directors, producers, cinemaphotographers, and editors, and are enjoying successful careers in top film and television production companies, as well as broadcast stations and streaming platforms at home and abroad.

Our core belief is that our third level course needs to remain relevant and dynamic, and it must prepare students for work in the contemporary media industries in Ireland and further afield.

New digital marketing module

As part of this strategy, students undertake a Marketing for Television and Digital Content module where they learn how to develop and budget their idea and then pitch it to a national broadcaster, production company or producer.

We are delighted to add a new series of workshops and lecturers to this module – Creating Content for Digital Marketing with an elective focus on Sport. Students will receive expert tuition from practitioners in the industry to help them develop a strategy for marketing the short films which they produce on the course. In the ever-evolving contemporary digital climate, this will significantly add to the comprehensive toolkit that they enter a competitive industry with.
