The Conferring ceremony for all Wexford Campus Graduands will take place on Friday, 8 of November 2024 at 2.30pm

This ceremony will include all full-time and part-time courses at Levels 6, 7, 8 and 9. This includes the following: Higher Certificates, Bachelor Degrees, Honours Degrees, Higher Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters Degrees.

You will receive your email invitation to your student email account approximately three to four weeks before the ceremony start date.

All students have access to their student email account until after the ceremonies have taken place.  If you are experiencing any issues with accessing your email account please contact Computing Services for assistance. You can do so by emailing [email protected].

If you do not receive your email by Monday, 7 October 2024 then please contact [email protected].

There may be a new booking system in place for the upcoming ceremonies. If you are required to complete any further steps to confirm your attendance we will be in touch to advise you how to do this.

Ceremonies for SETU Wexford Campus take place in the National Opera House, Wexford, with light refreshments afterwards.

The National Opera House is fully accessible.  If you are graduating please let us know of any issues you may have accessing the stage to receive your parchment and we will do all we can to assist.

Each Graduand may bring a maximum of two guests to the ceremony. We appreciate that it is a very special time for you, however two guests per Graduand is the maximum that can be facilitated due to the capacity of the venue. 

There may be a new system in place for the upcoming ceremonies to provide you with your two guest tickets. This will be communicated to Graduands closer to the time of the ceremonies. 

Please be advised that the link to book your gown may not yet be open, but will be live on the website closer to the time of the ceremonies.

  1. All graduands must present themselves in academic gown and SETU colours. The official gown makers for SETU are Phelan Conan Limited*.  
  2. To book your gown, you must register online at www.phelanconan.com  
  3. Under Institution, choose ‘SETU Wexford’, then choose the date of your ceremony and select gown type and then follow the instructions. 
  4. Once you have booked your gown you have registered and two guest tickets will be waiting for you on the day. 
  5. You must book your gown by 12 midnight on Monday, 4 November 2024 for Wexford Campus Ceremonies.
  6. Pre-booked hire fee for Gowns is €33.  For those who miss the deadline payment on the day for Gown hire, the fee is €35. Cash payment cannot be facilitated on the day – card payment only. Payment can be made by scanning the QR code.
    Note: Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process on https://www.phelanconan.com Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. If you experience any further problems with 3D secure process, please contact your bank.
  7. Gown Return: your gown should be returned to the drop back point within 1 hour of the ceremony finishing.

Gown Collection from the National Opera house Friday, 8 November 11.30am – 2pm for attendance at 2.30pm ceremony.

*Graduands are free to search for academic gowns and SETU colours on their own behalf, however they must comply with the university’s academic dress code and colours for the award type.

Please be advised that the link to book your photography may not yet be open, but will be live on the website closer to the time of the ceremonies.   

The official photographers on the day are Lafayette Photography; they will be located on level 2 in the Festival Room of the National Opera House, and are available to you, up to 45 minutes before and after your ceremony.    

It is recommended that you book your photo session online with Lafayette, to prepay for your photographs.  The link to book your photo session is www.lafayette.ie  through the ‘Graduation Photography’ section.  Parchment frames will be available for you to purchase on campus after your ceremony as well as online through their Frame Shop An option will be available for you to filter on the frame size ‘SETU’ to find the correct size.

Any queries in relation to photographs must be made directly with Lafayette and not with SETU.

The National Opera House does not have on-site parking. Graduands and guests will need to avail of local car parks or on street parking.

  • Arrive 1 hour 30 minutes prior to the start time of your ceremony.  
  • Make your way straight to -1 Jerome Hynes Foyer to collect your two guest tickets. 
  • Give your guest tickets to your guests.  Guests will need these to gain access to the Conferring Hall.   
  • Make your way to collect your gown at level -1; the Jerome Hynes Theatre.
  • Get your photographs taken before your ceremony with Lafayette Photography on level 2 in the Festival Room.
  • Leave your guests at the Ground Floor Foyer outside of the Conferring Hall to take their seats. 
  • All Graduands are to make their way to the Ground Floor Foyer at least 30 minutes before their ceremony commences to prepare for the ceremony procession.
  • You do need to be assembled and ready for the procession at least 30 minutes before the ceremony commences.   
  • You must remain in the correct assigned numerical order for the procession into the Conferring Hall. You will sit in this seat in the hall which ensures that you will collect the correct parchment on stage.
  • Marshalls will guide you throughout the ceremony to collect your parchment and return to your seat once you’ve collected your parchment.
  • Once the ceremony is over you will be guided out of the Conferring hall to the Ground Floor Foyer where you can greet your guests, take photos and more.
  • There will be light refreshments for all to enjoy after the ceremony has taken place in the National Opera House.
  • You will need to return your gown at the Jerome Hynes Theatre at level -1, you are then free to enjoy the rest of your day!

If you are unable to attend the ceremony on the day, you do not need to notify us of this.  Your parchment will be posted to the address we have on our student system for you by registered post after the ceremonies have taken place.
