Event highlights:

This one-day event will include a number of talks and interactive experiments to showcase what life as a science student at SETU would be like. The event will include:

  • Interactive talk on epigenetics: Discover the fascinating field of epigenetics. Learn what it is, where it can be found, and why it matters in today's world.
  • Molecular biology: From DNA extraction to visualisation: Get hands-on with molecular biology. Participate in activities like DNA extraction, primer design, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and interpretation. Our staff will help you understand the processes from start to finish.
  • Physics in space: Explore the wonders of physics through the lens of space. Engage with concepts such as light, trigonometry, technology, and the vastness of the cosmos.
  • Lucozade experiment: Delve into the world of spectrophotometry. Learn about Beer’s Law, create standard curves, and practice pipetting techniques to understand concentrations.
  • Lunch hour activities: Enjoy your lunch while challenging yourself with intriguing logic and maths puzzles. Prizes will be awarded to the quickest problem solvers!
