Try Nursing is a unique event that offers potential students an opportunity to participate in nursing and caring skills that will provide them with an insight into the programmes of nursing and health care on offer within South East Technological University. The focus of the day is to provide a fun filled and informed day for potential students of nursing and Applied Health Care. This day is facilitated by Academic staff who teach across a breath of undergraduate and post graduate programmes in the Department of Nursing and Health Care and who can provide insights and answer questions potential students have in relation to our programmes.
Light refreshments are included in the price for the day. On booking, the fee is not refundable. Places are limited and booking is required to attend.
This event is suited towards sixth, fifth and transition year students interested in the following courses:
- BSc (Hons) in General Nursing
- BSc (Hons) in Intellectual Disability Nursing
- BSc (Hons) in Psychiatric Nursing
- BSc (Hons) in Applied Health Care
- BSc in Applied Health Care

About the event
The Try Nursing event at the Department of Nursing and Health Care in South East Technological University is aimed at transition, fifth and sixth year students. It is an interactive experience into the education and role of a nurse, from their beginning as a student to the vast range of opportunities available in a modern nursing career. Participants will get an opportunity to practice a range of clinical skills in a simulated environment. They will also get a chance to talk with current nursing students and meet qualified nurses from a variety of disciplines.
