This is your step-by-step companion for completing and managing your application to South East Technological University (SETU) through our secure online portal. Whether you are a prospective student applying independently or with the support of an international agent, this page provides essential guidance on navigating each phase of the application process.

Creating an Account

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to the SETU Online Application Portal.
  2. Create Account: Click the “Create Account” button under the ‘Sign In’ title.
  3. Enter Details: Fill in your details on the next page to create your account.
  4. Verify Email: A verification email will be sent to your email address.
  5. Log In: After verifying your email, return to the sign in page and log in.

Accessing Recruitment Representative/Agent Created Accounts

If you are applying to SETU through a Recruitment Representative or International Agent:

  1. Application Creation: They will create your application.
  2. Activation Link: You will receive an activation link by the next day.
  3. Log In: Use the link to log in to the application portal.

Guidance for individuals with no Last Name

We understand that some applicants may not have a Last Name. Here’s how to complete the application form correctly:

For Applicants with One First Name:

  • First Name: Enter a hyphen (-)
  • Middle Name: Enter your middle name(s)
  • Last Name: Enter your first name

Updating your Profile

In the ‘My Profile’ section of your portal, you can see and change your personal details and academic interests.

  1. View and Update: To change your details, click the “Update Profile” button. This button is in the top right corner of the picture below (marked with a red circle).
  2. Save Changes: Don’t forget to save your changes before you close the page.

Applying for a programme

  1. Log In: Go to the SETU Online Application Portal and log in.
  2. Select Application Type: Choose the correct application type from the list. Make sure to select the right type for your chosen programme.
  3. Find Programme Information: Search for the programme you want to apply to. Check the specific information and entry requirements for each programme here.

How many programmes can I apply for?

Application Fee: A non-refundable €35 fee allows you to apply for one programme.

Multiple Applications: You can apply for up to two programmes.

Note: You can only submit one application per programme.

Uploading Supplemental Items

After you submit your application, you will receive an email asking you to add your supplemental items. Follow these steps:

  1. Log In: Go to the SETU Online Application Portal and log in.
  2. View Application: On your home screen, click ‘view’ on the application you want to add items to.
  3. Upload Documents: Click on the ‘upload supporting documents’ tab.
  4. Check List: You will see a list of required documents. Please do not upload documents that have not been requested as these will not form part of the decision.
  5. Choose File: Click ‘Choose File’ to upload a file from your computer.
  6. Upload: After selecting a file, click the ‘Upload’ button to complete the submission.

Important: Ensure all documents are clear, legible, and complete. For detailed information on required documents, see the ‘Application Documents’ section below. Make sure you have everything you need before submitting your application.

Reference Requests

Depending on the programme you are applying for, you may need to upload a reference. If an academic reviewer asks for a reference, you will need to fill in a reference request form after submitting your application.

  1. Find the Form: Go to the Supplemental Items section on your application portal.
  2. Check Requirements: Not all programmes need references. If the section is empty, you don’t need, or you have not been asked, to provide one.
  3. Submit Reference: If required, fill in and submit the reference request form.

My application is being sponsored, how do I submit the details of my sponsor?

You can provide details of the person or organisation who is sponsoring your application as part of your application form. You can then provide a member of the SETU Global team with details of this arrangement so we can contact your sponsor and confirm funding and complete any paperwork that may be required to facilitate your application.
