The deadline for applications for the next New Frontiers is 10 September 2022 apply online at www.wit.ie/newfrontiers.

A number of New Frontiers participants were presented with awards in recognition of the significant progress made in advancing their start-up companies.

Best business opportunity was awarded to Wexford’s Lorcan O’Keeffe for his start-up Hands On Performance.

Best business plan being awarded to Rachel Power from Waterford for Power Privacy.

Vikash Kumar from Waterford was awarded most innovative idea for his start-up LiChargiFi.

The entrepreneurs who took part in the 2022 New Frontiers programme have developed many solutions including renewable energy technology, specialised equipment to allow people with mobility issues to participate in automotive eSports, software to support GDPR compliance for the financial services sector and hospital environments, Artificial Intelligence applications for the optimising wind turbines operations and also for automating document processing and a data platform for optimising food production in the poultry sector.

Dr Eugene Crehan is hopeful for the future of these companies and that they will “follow-in the footsteps of some high profile past participants’ start-up companies such as Engage XR Holdings, Sonru, NearForm, Scurri, StitcherAds, Taoglas and OmniSpirant.”

New Frontiers offers a supportive yet challenging environment to help entrepreneurs plan and launch their new business. South East Technological University (SETU) Waterford’s New Frontiers programme, which is funded by Enterprise Ireland, is based at the ArcLabs Innovation Hub at SETU West Campus in Carriganore, Waterford. 

The deadline for applications for the next New Frontiers is 10 September 2022. The time commitment for Phase 1 is just two evenings per week, starting from 20 September 2022.
