SETU announces the opening of applications for its new Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering, for the first time at Level 8.

The course is designed for those interested in expanding their knowledge within the industrial engineering sector, enabling them to further progress in their career.

Increased Employability

The one-year course prepares learners for roles in industry and aims to develop graduates to be experts in applying industrial engineering principles in the workplace. Graduates will have a greater understanding of industry needs and an increased ability to identify opportunities for companies who operate in industrial engineering applications.

A steppingstone to further study

The BEng (Hons) in Industrial Engineering also acting as a stepping stone for those graduates who would like to pursue postgraduate study in engineering.

Learners will be given a strong foundation in the essential areas of industrial engineering, including operations, equipment and Health and Safety; all key aspects of the role of an industrial and systems engineer.

The course also provides technical and practical experience across a range of equipment and environments, as well as experiential learning that allows learners to reflect, problem-solve, make decisions and communicate effectively with peers, clients and senior staff. All of this provides the basis for further studies, or entry into the sector.

Accreditations and funding

The course is accredited by SETU and the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering (IISE), a professional society dedicated to supporting the education and development of the industrial and systems engineering profession.

The course is delivered on a part-time basis and is part funded by Cobotics Skillnet.
