Following family footsteps
My decision to attend SETU in Waterford was primarily influenced by my older brother, who graduated from the University three years prior. Through his first-hand experiences and recommendations, I was drawn to the University’s academic offerings. I ultimately applied for a course that combines finance and IT, giving me the specialised skills needed to excel in my career. My research into SETU’s programme further solidified my interest.
Support
As an international student, I have had the opportunity to learn from welcoming and dedicated lecturers who have played a pivotal role in developing my knowledge and skills within this programme.
The University has fostered a strong networking system, where students can socialise and make new connections. Additionally, the organised social events hosted by SETU have provided a refreshing opportunity to expand my professional and personal network.

Highlights
The cultural differences I have experienced in Waterford have been truly fascinating. An exciting aspect has been the celebration of longstanding local traditions, such as St Patrick's Day, and St Stephen's Day. Observing and participating in these occasions has given me a profound respect for the country’s cultural heritage. These cultural insights have broadened my perspectives and inspired me to be more adaptable and appreciative of diverse ways of life.
