Graduating in the October 2024 conferring ceremonies, Adam Kane from SETU’s Bachelor of Science in Computing in Interactive Digital Art and Design course, reflects on a journey shaped by both curiosity and adaptability.

For Adam, SETU's B.Sc. in Computing in Interactive Digital Art and Design offered the perfect balance between creativity and technology. With core elements in programming, art, and design, the course structure allowed for a hands-on, multifaceted learning experience. Adam said, “My favourite aspect of the course would be that it’s versatile. For example, the range of programming, software development, art, and design.” This versatility not only broadened Adam’s skill set, but also allowed for personal growth, supported by a close-knit class group that made every day on campus enjoyable.
An enriching student life at SETU
Life at SETU provided a full student experience, with a range of facilities and the advantage of being close to town. Adam said, “I really enjoyed my experience as an SETU student; SETU’s campus in Carlow has a lot of facilities and is very close to the town for much more to do.” The ease of making connections also stands out as one of Adam’s most memorable aspects of college life: “I found it very easy to get along and make friends with many people.”
Embracing future opportunities
Now working for Unum in Carlow as a Technical Integration Associate, Adam is already putting his skills to use in a real-world setting, enjoying the challenges and opportunities the role offers. Looking forward, he also plans to pursue a Master’s degree in the future, continuing the journey of growth that began at SETU.
