An engaging presentation on management approaches in blended learning was presented by Dr Tony Murphy, at the most recent edition of the SoELL Education Research and Doctoral Seminar Series on 20 March.
Drawing from his doctoral research, Dr Murphy, Head of Lifelong Learning at the School of Education and Lifelong Learning (SoELL), provided insights into the particulars of managing blended learning courses within higher education institutions.
He explored three primary management approaches of collegiality, managerialism, and neo-collegiality, and their associated challenges and implications.
Reflecting on his presentation, Dr Murphy remarked, “Understanding the nuances of management approaches in blended learning is crucial for enhancing educational practices within HEIs.”
Dr Emer Emily Neenan will be presenting at the next edition of the 'SoELL Education Research and Doctor Seminar Series' on April 24. She will deliver an address on the topic of 'Creative Academic Writing as Neurodivergence Accessibility and Advantage'.
