South East Technological University (SETU) graduate Molly found that her BSc in Sports Coaching and Performance has been rewarding and is something that will certainly impact on her future.
"Focusing on the strength and conditioning element of my courses led me to work with the Dublin ladies senior footballers. Placement is a great way of seeing how your learnings operate in a work environment." SETU graduate, Molly Moran
Molly Moran recently graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching and Performance. She says that SETU has given her an unmatched insight into what she wants to pursue after university.
Adjusting to college life
For those who are coming from secondary school, I would say don't overthink it at all. I found my first few weeks at SETU absolutely brilliant. It wasn’t difficult to adjust at all. I actually found transitioning from primary school to secondary school more difficult.
Elite sports organisation placement
For my BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching and Performance, there is a mandatory placement. I had to find an elite sports organisation. Focusing on the strength and conditioning element of my courses led me to work with the Dublin ladies senior footballers. Placement is a great way of seeing how your learnings operate in a work environment. It is a worthwhile experience for both the individual and the club or company.
Micro-credentials
I would advise students that there are micro-credential courses available aside from the core course. SETU students should look into these as they are very rewarding. Some of the courses that would be available would be the likes of first aid.
