Over 40 events are scheduled to take place across South East Technological University’s (SETU) three campuses in Waterford, Carlow, and Wexford as part of N-TUTORR Week.

Each of the events scheduled this week aligns with one or more of the key project themes of N-TUTORR, including: Education for Sustainable Development (ESD); Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI); digital transformation; and student employability.

N-TUTORR is an ambitious national project across the TU sector, with over €40 million of EU funding available to support transforming teaching, learning, and assessment. N-TUTORR Week is a national event happening across all seven partners.

First of its kind

Discussing the events taking place at SETU, Ken McCarthy, N-TUTORR Institutional Lead said, “Thanks to both staff and student organisers, we have an exciting schedule, with events taking place online and in person right across the university.

“The week is the first of its kind in the technological higher education sector and promises to be a great week of opportunities for both our students and staff.”

Events on Wednesday, 28 February range from sustainability in action: co-creation of a native Irish tree hedgerow at the SETU West Campus in Carriganore, Waterford, EDI at the heart of humanities, a day-long showcase event on the Kilkenny Road Campus in Carlow to a swap and repair workshop at the Summerhill Campus in Wexford.

SETU’s Wexford campus will also host the Business of Biodiversity workshop on Thursday, 29 February. While further events in the area of humanities will be held on topics such as trauma-informed practice (Carlow campus on 29 February) and the Early Childhood Education for Sustainable Development Conference at Newbay House in Wexford on Friday, 1 March.
