Known for his groundbreaking work in game development and software design, Ramon’s visit highlighted the innovation of his product alongside his personal achievements in an industry that many of SETU’s computing students hope to thrive in post-study.

raylib is a library originally created for video games education that has transcended into the professional world for the creation of games and applications. raylib is also the base technology of raylib technologies, a company founded by the author of the library focused on game dev tools development. Some of the company key products are rTexPacker, rTexViewer or rInstallFriendly tools.
Ramon spoke to students about the key trends emerging in the gaming industry and how raylib has become one of the most popular open source tools for games creation and education, helping both professional software developers, as well as those learning the craft.

Speaking to students today at SETU’s Carlow campus, Ramon said, “It’s been a pleasure to see how raylib is being used by students to learn video games development and creating their dreamed games”.

Providing them with an insight into the real-world industry potential of their academic and practical training at SETU is invaluable. Doing so by spotlighting the real-world experiences of those successfully navigating and innovating the gaming industry is hugely impactful. Sincere thanks to Ramon for joining us today.”
