Members of the executive management team within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, along with Vice President for Research, Innovation & Impact, Prof. Marie Claire Van Hout, were delighted to present copies of their Research Outputs publication to SETU President Prof. Veronica Campbell.

The publication showcases the diverse and innovative research outputs both from academics and researchers in Arts and Humanities across all SETU campuses in 2022 and 2023.

Research outputs in Arts and Humanities are rich and varied, with academics and researchers producing knowledge, as well as supporting and guiding research for others.

While research publications comprised of over 51% of all outputs, a variety of other mediums were produced, which included content, engagement and impact through exhibitions, performances, films, creative essays and artistic talks.

Researchers were most active in presenting their work to the academic community at conferences, also harnessing media for outreach and community engagement through podcasts, radio, online, TV, newspaper, magazines, and blogs.

Alongside publications, media engagement, and conferences, researchers in the faculty organised and attended seminars, workshops, symposia, webinars and summer schools.

Speaking on the impact of this report, Prof. Marie Claire Van Hout, Vice President Research, Innovation & Impact noted it “captures and showcases the diverse and innovative research outputs from academics in the Arts & Humanities, all of which will advance knowledge, realise impact and address societal challenges.”

Prof. Van Hout continued: “We want to thank anyone who has spent time creating and researching, whether this is writing a paper or book, creating a film or painting, a dance, a piece of theatre, a piece of music.”
