This conference was held over three days in May 2024, with the aim being to bring together researchers and practitioners from industry and academia to present new research results and exchange ideas and experiences in the field of technology, culture and international stability.
The event was organised by a multi-disciplinary team from the INSYTE research centre, spearheaded by Brenda O’Neill, Department of Computing and Mathematics, Dr Mary Doyle-Kent, Head of Department of Engineering Technology and Dr John Organ, School of Business.
At the opening ceremony, IFAC colleague and Austrian scientist, the late Professor Peter Kopacek was remembered with fondness by Dr Mary Doyle-Kent, receiving a standing ovation in his memory.
During TECIS 2024 new approaches in dealing with globalisation effects, such as studying complexity and knowledge management were proposed and explored.
Seven SETU students from the BSc in Information Technology programme had successfully had their paper peer reviewed and published. The title of their paper is ‘The Role of Digital Cultural Heritage in Software Engineering Education: Using assets from the Digital Repository of Ireland as a teaching aid’. This can be accessed here.
Over the three days up to 70 peer reviewed papers were presented. The full collection of papers is available to accessed by tapping here.
