South East Technological University’s (SETU) Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Digital Marketing with Analytics and Master of Science in Digital Marketing and Analytics have been accredited by the Institute of Analytics (IoA), the international professional body for analytics and data science professionals. This accreditation is global recognition of the calibre of the university’s digital marketing with analytics programmes that meet the highest academic, professional, and ethical standards set by the institute.

The digital era has changed the marketing landscape dramatically, transforming how businesses and organisations communicate with consumers. Marketing professionals have to adapt to this change with a strong understanding of digital marketing methods and their strategic implementation. Key to this is robust training in data analytics, which is at the heart of all successful marketing. The accreditation from the Institute of Analytics gives students and employers increased confidence in the quality of education that SETU provides, which will help students gain a competitive edge in the data age.

Both the BSc (Honours) in Digital Marketing with Analytics and the Master of Science in Digital Marketing and Analytics bring together the latest academic research with industry knowledge to deliver courses that prepare learners to carve out an effective career in the digital marketing sector. Additionally, via accreditation from the IoA, learners will have an internationally established professional network linking them with other industry professionals and empowering them to be on the cutting edge of sectoral trends and best practice as their careers progress.

Speaking about the accreditation, Dr Eileen Doyle, Head of Faculty of Business and Humanities at SETU in Carlow, commented, “We are thrilled to receive this accreditation from the Institute of Analytics in recognition of the commitment and dedication of the lecturing team in developing and delivering such high quality programmes. This is a significant "stamp of approval" for the BSc (Hons) in Digital Marketing with Analytics and Master of Science in Digital Marketing and Analytics programmes and I want to acknowledge and thank the team for all the work that they have done over the last number of years to secure this accreditation. This global recognition has many benefits for our students and graduates and provides them with further opportunities to hone and develop their digital marketing skills valued by employers while ensuring regional and wider impact.”

Dr Clare Walsh, Director of Education at the IoA said, "We are excited to be working with SETU which is the first technological university in Ireland whose programmes are accredited by the Institute of Analytics. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the content of the MSc in Digital Marketing and Analytics course and how well it aligns to IoA Analyst Competency Framework.”

Adding to this, Olga Sara, Head of Education Partnerships at the IoA commented, “Marketing as a field has been one of the first to adopt analytics and we need a new generation of graduates ready to take the lead in digital programmes. We look forward to supporting students following their graduation, as they continue to stay up to date with the changes in the field and develop their careers using marketing intelligence.”
