South East Technological University’s (SETU) Cork Road Campus in Waterford welcomed more than 1,500 prospective students eager to explore university life at the first of its Spring Open Evenings.
This annual event attracted Leaving Certificate students and their parents from across the South East and beyond. Designed for those applying for undergraduate courses through the CAO, as well as individuals considering postgraduate, part-time, or professional development opportunities, the evening provided valuable insights into life at SETU.
Showcasing SETU
Attendees engaged with lecturers, explored their chosen fields of study, and received information on fees, grants, and student supports. Guided campus tours showcased SETU’s state-of-the-art facilities, while current students shared their experiences of university life.
Selecting the right path
The event’s success highlights SETU’s popularity amongst students, as reflected in recent enrolment figures, with nearly 40% of students opting to study at one of SETU’s campuses.
The Spring Open Evening also allowed CAO applicants to involve their parents, guardians, and friends in the decision-making process, helping them select the right path for their future.
We encourage prospective students to research their options thoroughly, ask the right questions, and choose a course that aligns with their career aspirations, strengths, and interests.
