We were delighted to welcome Cormac Fitzpatrick, Project Director with John Sisk & Son Ltd., to South East Technological University recently to present the annual Sisk Awards for Excellence in Research.
Sisk, who are Ireland's leading building contractor, have been supporting these long-running awards which recognise outstanding achievement in the final year dissertation on the BSc (Hons) in Construction Management & Engineering. The winners of the awards were Gary O Neill, Conor Power and Jordan Kinch.
The students presented a synopsis of their research which focused on topical issues such as Lean Construction and Off-Site Construction. Cormac commended the students on the quality of their research and highlighted the importance of their findings to the construction industry, which is facing significant challenges at present.
