South East Technological University (SETU) is seeking a Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Impact (VPRII) to lead the planning, development, management, and implementation of the university’s strategies in research, innovation, and graduate research studies.

The VPRII will be a key member of the University’s executive team, driving the University's research priorities and strengthening links with regional enterprise. The VPRII will collaborate closely with the University research community, the Heads of School/Faculty and Research Centres and Institutes, ensuring alignment with the overall University strategic plan and research agenda. This individual will ensure that research resources and investment at all levels of the University are focused on maximising regional impact and enhancing SETU’s national and international profile.

This is an outstanding opportunity to bring strategic vision and strong leadership to SETU during a time of change and growth. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable research profile, comprehensive knowledge of the research funding landscape, and a strong track record of research leadership in a university or equivalent large and complex environment. They will be experienced in developing strategic research and innovation partnerships with external stakeholders in industry, academia, government, public sector organisations and the region. The ideal candidate will also have excellent knowledge of technology transfer and research commercialisation processes.

SETU is an internationally orientated, entrepreneurial, and connected multi-campus technological university located within the south east region of Ireland. The University aims to drive sustainable economic, environmental, cultural and social development in the south east of Ireland through research and innovation activities with impact not only for the region, but also nationally and internationally.
