Biography

With over 25 years of experience in the third-level education sector, Patricia is a dedicated professional passionate about staff learning and development. Currently serving as the Learning Development & Staff Engagement Officer at South East Technological University, Patricia is committed to supporting staff on their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) journey.

In this role, Patricia plays a pivotal part in developing and implementing staff learning and development strategies, enhancing staff engagement, and facilitating new staff onboarding. A strong advocate for leadership development, Patricia has successfully completed the AURORA Women in Leadership Development Programme, reinforcing the university’s commitment to career progression and leadership opportunities for women.

One of Patricia’s achievements is leading the rollout of SETU’s first staff mentoring programme, a groundbreaking cross-institutional initiative that sets a new standard in the third-level sector. Additionally, she has been instrumental in organising Health and Wellbeing initiatives that contribute to a supportive and engaging workplace culture.

As an active member of the Staff Developers Network, Patricia collaborates with HR professionals across the higher education sector, implementing innovative HR and training initiatives. Dedicated to SETU’s strategic goals and vision, she works diligently to ensure alignment between institutional objectives and a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
