Ms Philomena Treacy

Biography

Philomena is the Sustainability Administrative Officer within the Office of Sustainable Development in South East Technological University. The Office of Sustainable Development strives to raise environmental awareness among staff and students, promote the importance of sustainable principles and practices, and embed sustainability into all levels of campus life. 

Previous to this role, Philomena worked as Senior Staff Officer in the Office of External Affairs which was responsible for driving regional engagement and stakeholder partnerships at the university, where Philomena supported the projects coordination, communications, systems development and operations of this centralised function. Prior to this, Philomena has worked as European Research Programme Officer providing comprehensive support to the SETU research community supporting them through the proposal preparation, project setup, contract management and full project lifecycle of European and International Research Funding. In her role as Senior Administrator in the Technology Transfer Office in SETU, Philomena's role involved management of all industry engagement and commercialisation contracts, and monitoring and reporting on and supporting commercialisation activity. Philomena has also worked in roles supporting the research community through enterprise development training.

Philomena Treacy holds a BSc in Information Technology and a BBS (Hons) in Business Information Systems from SETU, and has undertaken a number of in-depth training programmes in areas such as project management, technology transfer and digital marketing.
