Dr Rebecca Power is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the NRCI. She holds a BA (Honours) Degree in Health Promotion and a Research Masters in sedentary behaviour and physical activity. In 2019, she completed a PhD in nutrition for cognitive health at Waterford Institute of Technology.
Her research interests at the NRCI include the management and co-ordination of the re-MIND trial, as well as the design and implementation of the FortiXan trial. Dr Power has recently been awarded a Marie Sklodowska Curie Action Individual Fellowship to work with Professor Aron Barbey and his team and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
Using cutting-edge tools and techniques from nutritional epidemiology and cognitive neuroscience, she will develop a greater understanding of the specific brain regions and neural networks that are potentially strengthened by specific foods and dietary patterns.
