If you have an accident or near miss while at the University, please report it immediately to one of the following:

  • Your line manager
  • Your lecturer/supervisor
  • The health & safety office

What Should Be Reported?

  1. Accidents:  Any event that results in injury or damage to property or equipment should be reported, regardless of how minor it may seem.
  2. Near-Misses: Near-misses are incidents that could have resulted in an injury, illness, or property damage but didn’t. These are important to report as they highlight potential risks.
  3. Hazardous Conditions: Report any unsafe conditions that could lead to an accident in the future, even if an accident hasn’t occurred yet.
