A Safety Representative is an employee appointed or elected within the university to represent fellow employees on all matters related to health and safety.  Their role is to act as a liaison between the employees and management, ensuring that safety concerns are effectively communicated. Safety representatives can conduct regular inspections, participate in risk assessments, and advocating for necessary improvements to prevent accidents and injuries. They may also provide guidance and support to employees on safety practices and help promote a culture of awareness and proactive risk management. By actively contributing to the development and implementation of health and safety policies, safety representatives play a crucial part in maintaining a safe working environment for everyone.
