Biography

Dr. Sinéad Morris obtained her PhD in 2019 from IT Carlow, following which she assumed the role of Technician in Food Safety at Teagasc. She embarked on post-doctoral research within the Prof. Piet NL Lens group (IESTBIO3) at NUI Galway before returning to SETU to undertake further post-doctoral research in brewing and distilling. Currently, she serves as a lecturer within the Applied Science Department. Her research is primarily focused on alternative grains for brewing and distilling, with a specific emphasis on enhancing alcohol outputs while delving into the intricacies of biochemical reactions. Additionally, she maintains a keen interest in biogas and biofuel production, utilizing environmentally suitable methodologies.
